Kidsgrove Athletic are looking for their first win of the league season as they head to local rivals Leek Town in El Staffico.

The Grove was defeated 4-0 by Stocksbridge Park Steels on the opening day of the season at the Autonet Insurance Stadium.

While Leek ran out 2-0 winners at Wisbech United thanks to a Darren Chadwick penalty and one from former Grove man Jake Twyford.

Twyford is the latest player to have featured for both clubs joining the likes of Anthony Malbon, Sam Hall, Marc Grocott, Chris Baker and, Rhys Thompson.

If you want to find the last time the Grove lost to Leek Town in the league, then you have to go back to 2015 when men from Harrison Park got the better of us. They won 3-1 with Karl Espley scoring our goal. Since then we've faced each other eight times with the Grove winning three of them and drawing the other five.

Two of those wins came last season as both league games resulted in a 2-1 Kidsgrove victory. At the Autonet Insurance Stadium, a late Kyle Diskin goal gave us all three points, while Thompson was the hero at Harrison Park.

In terms of team news, James Butler is available after his suspension.

Admission prices are as follows: £9 Adults, £6 Concessions, £3 for 8-16-year-olds and under 8's are free.
