Frickley currently sit in 14th position in the Northern Premier South East Division which is a place and a point above Kidsgrove, however Frickley have played six more fixtures in the league compared to the Grove.
Dave Frecklington is the current manager of the Blues after he was appointed near the beginning of September due to previous manager Craig Spink resigning following a 3-1 defeat at home to Worksop Town.
They managed to get to the third round of the FA Cup in the 1985-86 season which is their all-time highest FA Cup finish but in this round they were defeated 3-1 at home to Rotherham United. This also where they recorded their highest ever attendance, when 5,800 fans turned up for the huge fixture.
The Blues play their home fixtures at Westfield Lane and this has been the case since 1910; the year when the club was formed.
Even though the club was formed in 1910, it has been an active member of the South Yorkshire league and in that year a local paper refereed to the club as Frickley Athletic Colliery but the name soon changed to just Frickley Athletic.
