Kidgsrove Athletic could make it three wins on the bounce with victory over Saturday's visitors to Hollinwood Road, Droylsden (15:00 K.O) as the Blues hope to upset proceedings by mounting a late push for the play-offs with ten games remaining.
Droylsden, known as the Bloods, come in to this fixture, sitting 13th in the Evo-Stik West, five points and two places below Kidsgrove following Dave Pace's side's 1-1 draw at home to struggling Glossop North End. Sefton Gonzales had given the Bloods the lead prior to a late equaliser from North End who then went on to have a penalty saved at the death by Bloods keeper, Chris Thompson.
The Grove have really found their feet in recent weeks and have now won three of their last four matches, a run that sees them remain unbeaten since mid-February. Ryan Austin's side now sit 11th with 40 points after a trio of brilliant victories against Kendal, Runcorn, and on Tuesday evening, Leek.
Our local rivals Leek Town, were the next team to fall victim to a much improved Grove side, as goals from Chris Budrys and Rhys Thompson secured all three points in mid-week as Kidsgrove completed the double over Neil Baker's side following two 2-1 wins over Leek this year, a result that sent the Grove faithful home happy heading in to tomorrow's fixture.
Droylsden will be looking to contain the Grove's inform partnership up front, with Anthony Malbon and Chris Budrys scoring nine goals between them in their last six outings, a record that has seen Grove move towards the top half of the table in recent weeks.
Droylsden's squad has its own flurry of big names, Reece Webb-Foster (Bradford City) and Faustin Makela (Manchester United) have both joined the club having previously been academy products at professional outfits.
