Kidsgrove will look to build on last week’s ‘El Staffico’ win as we travel to the Lake District this weekend to face a Kendal Town side currently fighting near the foot of the table.
An injury-time winner from Kyle Diskin sent Grove fans home on cloud nine last weekend after Malbon had equalised from a Bott opener for Leek, but for Saturday’s opponents, last weekend was one to forget. Kendal slumped to an 8-0 loss against league leaders Atherton Collieries and Grove will be hoping to take advantage of knocked confidences at Parkside Road to secure a third win in a row.
Despite Kendal have struggled to find any kind of form this season but will take hope from the 0-0 draw they took away from the Novus Stadium in November in the reverse fixture in a game that started a seven-game winless streak for Grove that only ended against Clitheroe on December 22nd.
Grove, on the other hand, have looked much improved since the Clitheroe games and despite narrow losses against Atherton Collieries and Colne, a dominant display over higher-level opposition in Tamworth and a dramatic derby win has restored some confidence and Kendal provide a potential stepping stone in the road to getting our season back on track after a disappointing winter period.
